Inofficial report by Weyland Yutani Industries:
"This is the one and only picture taken by our Probe XZ-345/g. It displays a view of what is estimated to be
about 5 colonies of the xenomorph lifeform reported by Lt. Ellen Ripley. Local time about 12:00am (maximum daylight).
Sensor analysis: very hostile enviroment to life regarding earth standard.
Contact with probe was lost about 3 minutes after landing and detecting data of movement nearby.
Further analysis is required"
My comments:
IDEA: This picture is based on a dream i had several years ago, after watching the movie "Aliens". I was
thinking about earth overwhelmed by aliens from the movies "Alien" and "Aliens". My dreams this time took
place in the city i was raised and delt with the remnants of mankind trying to hide and survive and in this dreams
the sky and the mood were almost excactly like in this picture.
Some years later i read the novel "Aliens - Alien Harvest" by Robert Sheckley taking place on the Homeworld
of the Aliens. Again the mood and atmo it created were very close to the ones in this picture. So i tried to depict
the homeworld of the famous (Giger-)aliens in this picture.
SURFACE: I admit that there is only one surface layer. But i was after the mood and atmo of this one. Additionaly
the surface fits very well to a hostile world, IMHO.
TERRAIN: Created with Terraformer2 and Photoshop.
Please tell me what you think of this picture. Comments, critics and/or advise is (as always ;) very welcome.
Thanks for viewing and Happy Rendering :o)
